At Sussex Sport Aikido we practise Shõdõkan Aikido founded by Kenji Tomiki Shihan.

Shõdõkan Aikido
Or Sport Aikido is the style of Aikido created by Kenji Tomiki Shihan, the first 8th Dan under Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido.
Tomiki Shihan created a system of Aikido training, (including weaponry) using both Kata (forms) and Randori (free-play) to develop one’s technical ability.
Training does not require excessive physical strength, making this art ideal for men and women of all ages. Sport Aikido also offers opportunities for competition to develop your self-defence skills.
The SSAC is a Shodokan UK and British Aikido Association (BAA) club and abides to the constitution of the BAA.
The BAA is the largest organisation within the British Aikido Board (BAB), which is recognised by Sports Englandas the only governing body for Aikido in the United Kingdom.
All SSAC instructors are registered coaches with the BAA/BAB.
